ALL YOUNG MEN
AARONIC PRIESTHOOD SACRAMENT MEETING (5TH ANNUAL)
9:30am - 10:30am
Surrey Stake Centre
The theme is "Preparing". (Yes, it's very broad on purpose to explore what resonates with you.) This meeting will mean the most as each young man's participation includes personal feelings and gospel teaching about an aspect of "Preparing" of their choosing. Some of the young men brainstormed preparing for a temple marriage, missions, Melchizedek Priesthood, education and career, among other worthwhile things. There are many other possible topics. You can get into some depth by exploring uses of "prepare", "preparatory" and "preparation" in the Topical Guide (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/tg/prepare?lang=eng, https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/tg/preparation?lang=eng, https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/tg/preparatory?lang=eng).
The following options for participation are:
Speak for 2-ish minutes (a little less or a little more is okay) from the stand on some aspect of "Preparing"; and/or
Prepare something else that conveys some teaching and feeling about "preparing" - draw a picture, make a painting, write a poem, write a talk (and someone can read it if you'd like), make a video, another musical number, or whatever. These would be displayed for ward members to see.
We will also be singing a song (We'll Bring the World His Peace) as a group.
100% involvement would be incredible! Please reach out with questions, for assistance, etc.

Important note re: 5th Sunday lesson for youth.
The content of next Sunday's class will revolve around the familiar topic of "standards". As part of this, the Ward Youth Council requested that we have guest speakers come to share about their journeys through addiction, including with substances and pornography.
We have found two trusted adult members who have agreed to share both high-level cautionary tales and personal messages of finding hope through Christ. This may be somewhat intense subject matter for some. We invite you to prepare your youth as you see fit and to understand that this lesson is a great opportunity to open up a dialogue about these topics on the home level.
We further invite you to reach out to members of the young women's presidency and bishopric with any questions, etc.
The youth will be coming home with content that is a great guide for youth and parents alike. One reference is For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices.
